How to Soothe Dry Skin Naturally

Blog

Are you suffering from dry skin? If you find yourself suffering from dry itchy skin, there are many remedies that you can buy at the pharmacy that will help to soothe your dry skin. However, the best remedies for dry skin are often already in your home. If you are looking for natural remedies, here are some of your best options.

Use Honey

Honey is an ingredient that is found in many beauty products that you buy at the store. However, you can use honey yourself as a moisturizer. Honey helps to heal the skin. You can apply honey to the skin directly. Wash it off with some cool water after a few minutes.

Aloe Vera

If you have aloe vera gel in your home you can use it to relieve your dry skin. If it is your hands and feet that are dry apply aloe vera gel to them and cover them with your sock or a glove. While it can be difficult to get the plant of aloe vera depending on where you live, getting the gel from the plant itself is usually the best option if you want it to be the most effective. When you use the gel that has been extracted from the plant you will get better results especially if you use it as a skin treatment at night.

Bathing In Oatmeal

Oatmeal has been used to treat dry skin for several decades. You can add the oatmeal to your bath and then soak in it. This will help to relieve your dry skin. An oatmeal bath is a popular remedy for dry skin that is caused by eczema. You can also put some honey into your oatmeal bath for added effect.

Olive Oil

Olive oil is a great way to moisturize your skin. The oil helps to keep your skin moisturized by reducing water loss from the skin. If you rub too much oil on your skin or feel like your skin is too greasy you can use a piece of cloth to blot off the excess oil from your skin. Olive oil is a great moisturizer especially after you have been out in the sun for a long time.

Taking care of dry skin can be challenging. However, several natural remedies can be used. If you would like to learn more about personalized skincare options, make an appointment with a local dermatologist

Grow Old Gracefully with the Help of a Dermatologist

While I wasn't fond the reason I had to visit a dermatologist when I was a teenager (I had severe acne that she helped me manage), I feel lucky to have had the experience of visiting a dermatologist and learning just what they can do to help me have great-looking skin. I wasn't happy when I got my first wrinkle at about 30; my acne had just cleared up, and I wanted to enjoy having skin I finally loved for at least a few years! With a little more help from my dermatologist, I am now in my 50s, and many people think I am much younger than I am due to the amazing anti-aging treatments my dermatologist gives me. I want to teach what I have learned about skincare to others who need the advice, so please come back often for new skincare tips!
